" Boy Power Symposium"

Every 16th of May is International Day of the Boy Child and Mega Impact Foundation in collaboration with St’Patricks College hosted male students from different secondary schools across Asaba, Delta State to a one day symposium tagged " Boy Power " to commemorate the day ; students from various schools across Oshimili South LGA in Delta State coverged at SPC where they were groomed and sensitized by professionals on what is expected of them as male children and that which the society considers morally acceptable.

Topics that were discussed included: Understanding themselves as boys “Roles and Challenges”, Life Skills training, Boys In Tech and Reproductive Health “The Boys Dimension”.

The highlight of the event was an Oratory Competition where the invited schools participated in, it was a fierce battle as each school had to convince a panel of judges made of scholars on their Understanding of the topics given to them, Presentation Skill, Organization, Originality and Time management. The major objective of the initiative is to celebrate boys whilst highlighting and proffering solutions to the multi-faceted challenges facing the boy child which include but not limited to human trafficking, domestic violence, alcohol and drug abuse, pressure to be financially successful and incomprehensive sexuality education.
